The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a working meeting with
the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation Vinay Kumar. Issues related to the upcoming visit of Chairman of the State Duma to India which is expected to be held in the beginning of 2025 were discussed at the meeting. The official visit of Vyacheslav Volodin to New Delhi was expected to be held in the beginning of December but it was postponed because he tested positive for COVID. Vinay Kumar
expressed hope that the visit would be held soon and again conveyed the invitation from the Speaker of the Parliament of India Om Birla.
“For us, India is more than just a strategic partner,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin. “We should build relations on the principles of friendship and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and maintain a constant dialogue,” he added. Vyacheslav Volodin noted the high level of cooperation and said: “In the parliamentary dimension, we should achieve the same level.”
Vinay Kumar noted India's course aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries. In addition, he conveyed to the Chairman of the State Duma congratulations on the upcoming New Year holidays from the Speaker of the Lok Sabha of the Parliament of the Republic of India Om Birla. Vyacheslav Volodin also asked to convey good wishes and congratulations to his colleagues and all citizens of India.
