that in 2026, the State Duma celebrates its 120th anniversary. “It is
a long
historical way.
There were
different situations.
When we talk about the State Duma, about its history, we
should always remember those people who laid the foundation,” he said.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted the contribution of former chairmen of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov and Sergey Naryshkin, who were also invited to attend the first plenary meeting. “Boris Vyacheslavovich [Gryzlov – editor’s note] made his best to form a majority at the State Duma. Sergey Evgenievich [Naryshkin – editor’s note] headed the State Duma in a difficult time when Western forces interfered in our sovereign state’s internal affairs and tried to do everything to destabilize the situation. It was time of challenges. Time passed, the interests of our country have been protected,” he recalled.
“The history shows that it is impossible for foreign forces to defeat our country. All the problems appear inside: all these conflicts, betrayal by elites, and weakness of authorities. That is why we should make conclusions. We should not lose our country,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
It is important to do everything to unite and consolidate political forces and to implement the agenda of the President of Russia, to achieve national goals of development and address issues of providing legislative support to achieve goals of the special military operation, according to Vyacheslav Volodin. “It definitely should be a matter of priority for us,” he added.
“More than 33, 700 sanctions have been imposed on our country. By overcoming challenges, we get stronger. But it possible and I want to emphasize it once again, only when the political forces join their efforts to achieve the necessary goals,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
