The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
said that at a joint session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the 15th plenary session of the CSTO PA held on December 5 in Moscow.

“The world should be multipolar. The USA is trying to restrain development of other countries to maintain its hegemony,” he said.

According to Vyacheslav Volodin, Washington and Brussels use various methods: imposing illegal sanctions, blackmailing, intimidating, inflating conflicts, trying to destroy our traditional values, history, culture, religion.

“A purpose of such actions is quite clear: they want to take people away from their families and society, leave them alone with their problems and make them dependent through social networks, then control and brainwash them to serve their agenda,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

He urged his CSTO PA colleagues to find common solutions to ensure information security of the CSTO member states to protect the traditional values, to protect people from destructive propaganda and to strengthen the digital sovereignty of the countries.

Strengthening anti-terrorist security

Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that the United States of America and the European Union were used to interfering in the internal affairs of other states and destroying their economies. The Chairman of the State Duma said that the current situation in Ukraine could serve as an example of consequences of such actions, as that country had become a “US colony”, lost its independence and been used as a tool in the fight against Russia.

“The Nazi regime in Kiev is committing terrorist acts against civilians, shelling critical infrastructure of nuclear power plants. Such actions could lead to a tragedy, a nuclear catastrophe. It is important for us to do everything possible to prevent such situations,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.

He stressed that the relevant model acts aimed at strengthening the anti-terrorist security should be adopted.

“Today at the meeting we will also consider recommendations on countering terrorism at the facilities of the fuel and energy complex, as well as recommendations on information and analytical support of law enforcement agencies,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
