Volodin
Vyacheslav Victorovich
The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
mentioned
the main tasks that the parliamentarians of the two countries should solve within
the parliamentary dimension. “First of all, this is the approximation of legislation to ensure equal rights of citizens of our countries and increasing
the efficiency of joint projects,” he said.
Unified legal space
Viacheslav Volodin called on his colleagues to work more effectively on the formation of a unified legal space. “This is a necessary condition for enhancement of economic cooperation, which is really important for development of our countries,” he stressed.
“Trade cooperation with Russia is half of the total Belarusian trade turnover. Belarus is our main trading partner among the CIS member states. We need to create equal market conditions for our companies and to support small and medium-sized businesses,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
Inadmissibility of foreign interference in the internal affairs of states
Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the State Duma commented on the attempts of foreign interference in the internal affairs of sovereign Belarus after the presidential elections.
“I would like to emphasize another threat that we have faced this year, I mean attempts of foreign interference in the internal affairs of sovereign Belarus after the presidential elections,” said Viacheslav Volodin. He added that the parliamentarians stressed the inadmissibility of such actions. According to him, “all internal issues of the states should be resolved by the citizens, without foreign pressure and interference.”
Viacheslav Volodin said that it is unacceptable when “foreign states carry out openly an information campaign against Belarus, finance oppositions, and try to destabilize the socio-political situation in the republic”.
First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko also drew special attention to the importance of countering foreign interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
“Virus of permissiveness on the part of individual states is very destructive and has bad consequences, as well as the desire to resolve issues of world politics from a position of strength, by using double standards and violating the principles of international law,” he said.
“We can resist such actions only together, taking decisive measures to improve our economic and defense capacities,” said Vladimir Andreichenko. “In this situation, the Union State, which has always been observed as a driver of integration processes, once again shows its special significance. And all the numerous attempts ate taken against the Union and are aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation in Belarus. The goal is obvious — to take Belarus away from Russia, to divide our nations, using for this goal even information wars and developments of ”color revolutions“. I am convinced that together we will not let make it happen,” he added.
Budget for 2021
During the session, parliamentarians supported the decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on the budget for 2021. It was presented by the State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota.
“The main funds of the budget will be used to finance nine programs and twenty-six events in such areas as ensuring border security, improving military infrastructure, developing agriculture, protecting information resources in the face of growing external threats,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
Plans for 2021
The Parliamentary Assembly will keep the common formats of work and hold meetings of sessions, Council and commissions. Taking into account the epidemiological situation in Belarus and Russia, the format of these events may be changed, but the number of the events will not be changed and all the issues will be considered and relevant decisions will be taken within the framework of the Union State.
The programme of international activities for 2021 was also approved at the meeting. In particular, delegations of the Parliamentary Assembly will observe elections of legislative and executive authorities in foreign countries.
The next 60th session is planned to be held in the Republic of Belarus.
