noted that in Western countries the topic of a crisis of parliamentarism is appearing more often nowadays, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a common language on interparliamentary platforms, while “our work, our atmosphere, today's speeches show that we have completely different trends.”

“We have something to report on our joint work. This work is for the benefit of all participants: it is based on mutual consideration of each other's interests. And most importantly, we have a lot of common tasks and we share the view on how to achieve them. We can confidently develop cooperation even further,” he said.

The parliamentarian emphasized that model lawmaking is one of the main activities of the CIS IPA.

“Today, not just lawmaking is coming to the forefront, but the exchange of experience and considerations on the implementation of model laws and recommendations at the national level,” Ivan Melnikov said and noted that now it is necessary to keep up to date and develop standards governing the digital economy and artificial intelligence. Besides, he pointed out that it is important to promptly amend the previously adopted model laws.
