According to him, Ukraine was chosen by the United States as a country that assumed certain obligations to create problems and become a source of tension in close proximity to the Russian Federation at the cost of its own stability, economy and social status.
“The United States and the United Kingdom no longer want political asylum seekers from Russia. It is expensive to support them, after a certain period of time they stop following orders, become disillusioned with their bosses, and begin to make revelatory statements, overall, they make endless problems. All this lead to the decision to send those who apply for political asylum to Ukraine,” he said.
The Chairman of the State Duma also called Zelensky’s decision on granting citizenship for Russians populism.
“Today, millions of Ukrainian citizens migrate to Russia and European countries. A lot of people are leaving Ukraine in search of work. Only in Russia, up to 3 million Ukrainians work, almost every 8th resident of Ukraine works outside the country”, Viacheslav Volodin said. “There is no work in Ukraine, the standard of living is low, and when the president of Ukraine begins to invite citizens of other countries to a country where every sphere of life is in crisis, this is absolute populism,” he added.
According to Viacheslav Volodin, the issue of granting citizenship should be raised when there is a request for those who will receive work, and moreover better paid, and they will retain the right to their native language, professing their religion, as these are key issues which are taken into account by a person.
“Obviously, the US State Department is behind the decisions. Those who violated the law of the Russian Federation, stole and want to evade punishment and get political cover in the form of asylum, will be sent to Ukraine instead of the USA and the UK, where they will face an unenviable fate, abandoning their native language and faith, sow discord and create tension between our countries,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
