, evaluated the statement of MEP Nathan Gill, who called on Ukraine to strive for negotiations with Russia since this is “a priority question”.

“The fact that many MEPs understand the necessity of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow is very important. It will be impossible to decide on the Minsk agreements, which the previous leadership of Ukraine has always abandoned, without this. Vladimir Zelensky himself is well aware that it is necessary to do something. We see the appropriate, albeit very timid, signals from his side. I hope that this position of European parliamentarians will largely untie the hands of the Ukrainian president. Russia, in its turn, was always ready for negotiations,” Chepa said.

The parliamentarian also noted that it is too early to draw conclusions whether the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and his supporters will listen to the calls from the European Parliament.

“The administration has not yet fully established, the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, which current composition is clearly opposing the new president, are near. So far, it is difficult to unequivocally give some assessments,” he concluded.
