This is the third meeting of the Chairman of the State Duma and the Chairman of the Turkish
Grand National Assembly. Binali Yıldırım reminded of the decision to create a high-level inter-parliamentary commission between the State Duma and the Turkish parliament.
“I hope that we will implement the [signed earlier] letter of intent in the near future,” said Binali Yıldırım. He said that Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan brought Russia and Turkey very close to each other. “We counted that this year there were eight meetings of our presidents,” said Binali Yıldırım and stressed that parliamentarians should work just as actively as the presidents.
“We must comply, keep up with pace that our presidents set,” he said.
“Close relations between Russia and Turkey are a guarantee of regional security and stability,” said Binali Yıldırım. He pointed out that it is “an enormous responsibility” of the countries.

noted that at each meeting with Binali Yylyrym, new formats and solutions, which are more effective and allow developing inter-parliamentary cooperation
in general, are discussed.
He noted that the task of parliamentarians is to legally ensure the decisions taken by the presidents and “to find the forms that will help us solve this problem through the parliamentary dimension”.
He also thanked Binali Yıldırım for supporting the Russian language in Turkey and invited him to visit Russia in 2019.
“I hope that by this time our specified committees will be ready to sign an agreement on the establishment of a high-level inter-parliamentary commission,” said Viacheslav Volodin. He is confident that this will bring a more practical element to the inter-parliamentary interaction of the two countries.
