The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
, answering a question from parliamentary journalists about the election results in Bavaria.
“Some time ago none of the European heads of state believed that Donald Trump could become the president of the United States. Yesterday the Bavarian ruling party, the Christian Social Union, lost its leading position that it had since 1957. It will not be able to form a cabinet of ministers without a coalition.
At the same time, parties that respond to acute demands of society, such as solving migration problems, fighting unemployment, environmental protection, affordable education, and medical care, receive increasing support,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
“The losing Western elite continues to hope that this is an accident, not a pattern. They do not find a better explanation for their poor election results than Russian intervention in the elections,” he added.
“Meanwhile, the latest election results in the United States and Europe are systemic. They must be treated self-critically and, first of all, countries shall ask themselves.
Now after analyzing the latest election campaigns in Europe, it is time for foreign politicians to apologize for false accusations against Russia,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
On October 14 elections were held in the Landtag (land parliament) of Bavaria, Germany.
