that on that day 75 years ago were established diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China.
“Our country was the first state recognized the People's Republic of China, did a lot to develop statehood during that period of time, and nowadays our relations are developing largely due to the personal contribution of the heads of our states, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Comrade Xi Jinping,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Therefore, for our part, we should do everything to make our own contribution to the development of relations between our states through the parliamentary dimension,” he said. According to the Chairman of the State Duma, relations between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China are built “on the principles of comprehensive strategic partnership, trust, friendship, and non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states”.
Vyacheslav Volodin also added that over the past 75 years, our countries had overcome difficulties and challenges together: “There were imposed sanctions against both the People's Republic of China and Russia. But this only strengthened our friendship.”
“It is very important for us that those who will come after us — our children, grandchildren – should do everything possible to make these relations stronger, as we are neighbors, we are strategic partners, we are more than just countries that build relations on the right principles,” said the Chairman of the State Duma and added that the People's Republic of China “is now Russia's number one trading partner”.
“Therefore, colleagues, we should do everything possible to strengthen these relations,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
