Members of the State Duma unanimously supported the adoption at the plenary meeting of the statement of the State Duma “On removal of the Republic of Cuba from the list of States sponsors of terrorism of the Department of State of the United States of America”. As the document says, the State Duma urge to remove Cuba immediately from the list of states sponsors of terrorism of the US Department of State.

“We emphasize once again and appeal to all parliaments: Washington’s policy towards Cuba is unacceptable. The blockade of Cuba must be stopped. The United States of America has caused enormous damage to its economy. It is already about $160 billion. America should pay Cuba compensations for the damage caused,” said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

“The world must be multipolar, and the world order must be fair. Cuba’s example show that one country, which considers itself a hegemon, allows itself to do everything, while practically destroying the entire people of free Cuba. That is an example of American-style democracy,” he stressed and added that 187 countries at the UN had recently supported the removal of sanctions against Cuba. “Only two countries voted against: the USA and Israel, and one abstained: it was Ukraine,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.

“The pressure exerted by the United States on Cuba is a blatant example of interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign State and unfair conduct of inter-State relations using restrictive measures. The deputies of the State Duma strongly reject such unilateral measures against Havana and consider any elements of pressure on the Cuban Government and citizens of this country to be absolutely unjustified and unacceptable,” the text of the document says.

The deputies of the State Duma believe that the immediate removal of the Republic of Cuba from this list will contribute to the building of a multipolar world based on the balance of interests and the principles of equality and justice.
