Members of the State Duma observed the recent parliamentary elections in Belarus. There were elected 12.5 thousand deputies of local councils and 110 deputies of the lower house of the Parliament.

Representatives of the State Duma who observed the elections said that the elections had been held openly, competitively, legitimately, in full compliance with the national legislation. There were not recorded any violations.

“For the first time, in accordance with the amended Constitution, elections in Belarus were held on a single voting day. The same model is used in Russia. The results of the elections to the Parliament and local councils of Belarus showed that the patriotic forces won and that proved the absolute people’s support for President Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
