Vyacheslav Victorovich The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast) , on Monday, October 9, the Council of the State Duma adopted a decision to instruct the Committee on International Affairs to study the issue of withdrawal of ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty within 10 days (before the meeting of the Council of the State Duma which will be held on Wednesday, October 18) together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and other interested departments.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the decision to withdraw the ratification “goes in line with the national interests of our state and it will be a mirror response to the US activity, as the USA has not ratified the Treaty yet”.
