The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the Speaker of the Federal National
Council of the United Arab Emirates Saqr Ghobash. The Speakers discussed issues
of development of relations between Russia and the UAE within the parliamentary
dimension.
Russia and the UAE are reaching a new level of inter-parliamentary interaction, as noted Vyacheslav Volodin at the meeting. It is important to enhance communication at the level of the relevant committees and commissions, to have a joint action plan for productive work, as stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
He emphasized that the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates “are strategic partners”. The Presidents – Vladimir Putin and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan – contribute to the development of relations between the two states, as they laid the good foundation for bilateral cooperation. “It is important for us to have the same level of cooperation and do everything to provide legislative assistance to the decisions adopted by the Presidents, and to contribute to the development of relations within the parliamentary dimension,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
Saqr Ghobash noted the dynamic development of relations between Russia and the UAE. He agreed with Vyacheslav Volodin that the level of cooperation between the Parliaments should be at the same level as cooperation set by the leaders of Russia and the UAE.
“I consider it important to enhance communication between the committees and commissions. They will meet, discuss plan, program, issues to deal with,” added the Speaker of the UAE Parliament.
Vyacheslav Volodin and Saqr Ghobash signed the agreement on cooperation between the State Duma and the Federal National Council of the UAE. That format would help reach concrete solutions, as added the Chairman of the State Duma.
Vyacheslav Volodin invited the members of the UAE Parliament to pay visit to Russia next January.
