According to Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, it is regrettable that the Serbian opposition, instead of joining efforts together with the country's leadership to prevent incidents of mass shootings of children and adults, used its efforts to destabilize the situation in the country, flattering foreign forces

stressed that the recent incidents that took place in May in Serbia were real tragedies.

“Amidst those tragic events, it is of great concern that some representatives of the opposition are trying to put all the blame for these events on the leadership of Serbia, calling for the overthrow of the legitimate government, taking actions similar to those that we had already witnessed in many other states where “color revolutions” took place or were attempts of such revolutions. In fact, we once again see those steps – parts of the training manuals that have been prepared and are being prepared in the West,” said Alexander Babakov.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, it is regrettable that the Serbian opposition, instead of joining efforts together with the country's leadership to prevent such incidents in the future, used its efforts to destabilize the situation in the country, flattering foreign forces.

“On behalf of many members of the State Duma, I would like to express concern and support to the leadership of Serbia, as Russia has always treated with respect people of Serbia and the leadership of the country, that for many years has been doing everything possible to develop the economy, the social sphere of the country at a sufficient level so that the standard of living could meet the expectations of people of Serbia, and also demonstrates readiness to solve a huge number of problems,” added Alexander Babakov.

On May 3, a tragedy happened in Serbia: in one of the schools in Belgrade, a 13-year-old teenager started shooting, killing eight children and a guard, six more children and a teacher were injured. A day later, in the village of Dubona near Belgrade, a gunman shot a group of eight people. Left and liberal opposition parties and civil movements are calling for mass protest actions. According to them, the government does not take decisive actions against the violence.
