Amendments to protect Russian citizens from international organizations issuing decisions that contradict the national legislation have been submitted to the State Duma

The amendments to the Federal Law “On Security” have been submitted to the State Duma. According to the draft law, the President of the Russian Federation will be empowered to protect Russian citizens in case when foreign or international organizations issue decisions that contradict Russian legislation. There was also proposed to amend the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to hold accountable those individuals who assist in implementing decisions issued by such organizations.

Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that “this decision will make it possible to protect the country from illegal, hostile and aggressive actions of various international organizations.”
