The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the President of the Islamic
Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran. Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed
greetings and warm wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Vyacheslav Volodin and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi discussed issues of development of relations between the two countries.
The Chairman of the State Duma noted the necessity of development of the parliamentary dimension to provide legislative support to the decisions taken by the leaders of the states.
“Russia and Iran stand for the formation of a fair world order, ensuring global and regional security,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, “Western dictatorship can only be countered by the freedom of development of countries and nations, in this regard, the preservation of sovereignty and independence is really important for our two states.”
The Chairman of the State Duma also told the President of Iran about the results of the third meeting of the Russia-Iran Inter-parliamentary Commission, which had been held earlier that day.
There was also held a meeting in Tehran between Vyacheslav Volodin and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
