The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
said that
the day before the Moscow Arbitration Court had fully satisfied the claim of Duma TV (Editorial Office of the Parliamentary TV) against Google LLC for 1
billion rubles. The court ordered Google to restore access to Duma TV YouTube
channel and in case of non-fulfillment of the court order to charge a penalty
of 100 thousand rubles per day until the amount reaches 1 billion rubles. The penalty will be doubled every week.
Vyacheslav Volodin asked members of the State Duma to control that issue.
“The Committee on Issues of Family, Women and Children should think how to spend the money that Google would pay to Duma TV to solve the problems of children. And if the company does not pay or tries to file bankruptcy, the Committee on Security and Corruption Control should consider the issue of how to get this money. Where is its property, accounts and everything else? The company should not treat the Russian parliament like that; like they did with the US President Trump. The State Duma cannot be cut off from communications, even if it is an international company. We will defend our right both in international courts and in parliaments,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
