The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a meeting with the delegation of the DPR
People's Council headed by its Chairman Vladimir Bidevka. The chairmen of the relevant
State Duma committees also attended the meeting.
“We can discuss the format of our further work today. Perhaps we can create a special commission to resolve issues related to the harmonization of the DPR legislation, provision of legal assistance to the Parliament of the DPR by the State Duma,” said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin at the meeting.
“Our relevant committees will provide assistance in the preparation of draft laws and other decisions,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
He stressed that “the solution of people's problems should be the result of this work.”
Eight-year journey
Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that members of the State Duma had appealed to the President of the Russian Federation to recognize independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and noted the role of the head of state in that decision.
“That eight-year journey is over, and that is the first official visit of the delegation of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Our colleagues represent all factions, but despite their different political views, they are ready to do everything for the development of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” he said.
Represent the interests of all voters
Vyacheslav Volodin added that each member of the State Duma who attended the meeting also had voters living on the territory of the DPR.
“Our duty is to think about those people who are citizens of the Russian Federation and live on the territory of the DPR, and we should help them by representing their interests at the State Duma,” he stressed.
“We want to get back home”
In turn, Vladimir Bidevka thanked members of the State Duma for their active participation in the fate of the DPR.
According to him, it is important for the DPR People's Council to ensure that the integration processes between our countries are actively being conducted.
“All my colleagues, every resident of the DPR will support me: we want to get back home. These intentions have not changed since 2014. We consider Russia as our home,” said the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council.
“I am convinced that we will definitely get back home, we will be a part of big Russia: glorious Russia, great Russia! And I am convinced that we all must work for its benefit — for the benefit of Russia — and today we should unite around its leader Vladimir V. Putin,” stressed Vladimir Bidevka.
Speaking about interaction with representatives of relevant committees and the State Duma Staff, he said: “We have a lot to learn from our State Duma colleagues.”
