The Chairman of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic Vladimir Bidevka addressed members of the State Duma at the plenary session. The delegation of the DPR Parliament is paying an official visit to Russia.

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
had already held a meeting with Vladimir Bidevka.
Members of the State Duma greeted the delegation of the DPR People's Council and its Chairman before he started his address.
“Today we have discussed many important issues that we should resolve to develop legislation in the DPR in various areas. That is what our colleagues asked us to do, so it is important that the relevant committees get involved in this work,” said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
He recalled that members of all State Duma factions would hold meetings with the parliamentarians from the DPR and they would also meet with members of relevant State Duma committees.
“All these four days, members of the DPR People’s Council will have a lot of work so that we can reach solutions of specific issues. And that means that the problems of people will be solved more effectively and the DPR economy will be developed,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the DPR People's Council thanked the parliamentarians for making a decision which was very important for the whole republic.
“The recognition of independence of the Donetsk People's Republic by the Russian Federation opened a new phase in our bilateral relations,” stressed Vladimir Bidevka.
The Chairman of the DPR Parliament emphasized that the last eight years were very difficult for people of the Republic, as there was constant shelling, incapacitation of infrastructure facilities. According to Vladimir Bidevka, the DPR has learned to live in such circumstances, but there also should be confidence in the future.
He also noted the current very difficult conditions in the Republic, as banks are still closed, there are no supplies of important medicines and medical products, some grocery stores are closed, and the region, which is located almost in the very center of Europe, was on the verge of starvation.
“But only Russia was not able to tolerate such situation. Ukraine has always been afraid of the voice of Donbass and, even started a war against us, it could not stiffle it. Russia has restored our right to vote. There would have been a humanitarian catastrophe in the Republic without Russia’s support,” Vladimir Bidevka added.
The Chairman of the DPR People's Council also added that Donetsk would do everything to ensure that every war criminal would get the judgment they deserve.
“There are true indisputable facts about the intention of the Ukrainian authorities to resolve the so-called Donbass issue by force. Today, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR People's Militia have joined efforts and are liberating our cities from fascism, a new history of the Republic begins,” Vladimir Bidevka added.
In conclusion, he quoted the first head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko.
“He was a man who in the most difficult period had taken responsibility for the Republic, who until the end of his life fought for victory and a better future for our people. He said: “We all have one motherland and it is Russia.” There could be no other way,” concluded Vladimir Bidevka.
