The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
posted that on his Telegram channel.

He recalled that the European Union had adopted the sixth package of sanctions against Russia.

“Analyzing it, as well as the previous decisions made by Brussels and Washington, it is possible to conclude that a range of means aimed at withholding our country’s development has been exhausted,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, “by imposing new restrictive measures, Western politicians have to choose between a bad and a very bad scenario for their economies and citizens of their countries.”

“According to expert estimates, the possible losses for the Russian Federation from the ban on oil export to Europe could amount up to $22 billion a year. But due to the rise in energy prices, as a result of sanctions, and reorienting Russian oil export to the Asian markets, thus, the costs could be fully compensated. And perhaps our economy even will turn a profit,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, due to record high prices for energy resources, Europe, in turn, will overpay more than 250 billion euros every year. “And I did not mention the additional costs for enterprises that will have to get new brands of oil,” he added.

“Washington is doing everything to ensure that the main burden in implementing the sanctions falls on European countries. The US authorities are intentionally draining the EU economies to make them even more dependent on the United States of America. They want to control the states that previously sought greater independence. Now these states can hardly even think about it. They have more problems now,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

“By overcoming all the sanctions, our country will only get stronger,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
