Vyacheslav Volodin: the USA wants to turn Ukraine into its colony and use it to make Russia weak

The Chairman of the State Duma stressed that the whole world had already witnessed consequences of “the American democracy” in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Yugoslavia.

“None of these states, that Washington also wanted to make democratic and prosperous, had benefited from that. Just the opposite. Those developing countries descended into chaos and devastation, their citizens faced a humanitarian catastrophe,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

He also recalled that more than 250,000 civilians died during the twenty years period when the US troops had been in Afghanistan, and the country's population had become beggars.

The Chairman of the State Duma added that the United States had an opportunity to make Ukraine “democratic, independent, sovereign and prosperous in 8 years, when, after the coup d'état, the US advisers and instructors actually controlled the Kiev regime.” However, instead of developing the country, Ukraine was plundered, as added Vyacheslav Volodin. He stressed that “undesirable media outlets were closed, independent journalists were killed, political parties were banned” in the country, and “no representative of the corrupt government thought about the Ukrainian people.”

“In fact, Washington does not need an independent Ukraine. The US authorities want to turn it into their own colony. They want to exploit all the resources of the country and use the country to make Russia weak,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
