The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
announced that at the plenary meeting of the State Duma.

Vyacheslav Volodin gave an example of the withdrawal from Russia of such companies as McDonald's and IKEA. He recalled that McDonald's used Russian raw materials, while the company decided to close the restaurants.

“Well, ok, close your restaurants. But maybe tomorrow there would be not McDonald's restaurants, but Uncle Vanya's restaurants. Jobs must be preserved and prices reduced,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

According to Vyacheslav Volodin, IKEA “only received imported accessories, everything else is produced in Russia.” “We need to keep the factories, we need to keep the trading network. Let our domestic [companies] work here. If there are no domestic companies, then there should be state companies,” he added.

The Chairman of the State Duma also called for addressing the issue of rising prices for baby nutrition and “helping young mothers”, recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin had already raised that issue.

“Taking this into account, the laws should be amended. There are challenges and we must overcome and counter them,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.

“The country will overcome those challenges. And this is a good chance for us. Otherwise, we will never get out of Washington’s influence. Therefore, we should work on our errors,” he concluded.
