“The Western states have been telling during recent weeks that the Russian Federation would invade Ukraine. No one has apologized for disinformation yet. While we witnessed Kiev’s attempts to escalate conflict violating the Minsk agreements, starting mortar attacks of Donbas areas,” Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

posted on his Telegram channel.

The Chairman of the State Duma also recalled the words of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky that he would not negotiate with representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

“Local elections, political settlement — all those issues cannot be solved without representatives of those People’s Republics. If the parties to the conflict do not negotiate, so who should solve the issues?” wrote Vyacheslav Volodin. He added that such statements by Volodymyr Zelensky proved that he refused to implement the Minsk agreements.

The Chairman of the State Duma recalled that members of the State Duma had recently expressed the need to recognize LPR and DPR as sovereign states.

“Civilians are suffering and are being killed. We cannot remain passive in such situation. We are concerned about the safety of Russian citizens and compatriots living there,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.

The Chairman of the State Duma recalled that massive graves were found on the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings for cruel treatment of civilian population and use of means and methods prohibited by international law.

“Washington and Brussels keep silent about Kiev’s criminal activities. There are no judgments and investigation of crimes against humanity. I mean, death of people during the coup in 2014, the Trade Unions House fire in Odessa and punitive operations in Donbas. How can it be called if not genocide?” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.

He added that “there is no statute of limitations on such crimes”.

“It is important to investigate it now, so those responsible must be punished. Members of the European Parliaments, PACE and OSCE PA instead of condemning such actions and investigating the situation, they are simple hiding their heads in the sand like ostriches. They obviously use double standards,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
