tasks of the Parliamentary Assembly is to facilitate ratification of treaties
signed by the heads of our states within the framework of the CSTO. This year,
all member states completed the necessary procedures for four international
legal acts adopted by the CSTO. Thus, 56 such agreements have entered into
force. Three more were signed after the session of the Collective Security

According to him, one of the agreements provides the possibility for using the CSTO peacekeeping forces in the UN missions through the “coordinating state — a member of the CSTO.”
“In this regard, a model law “On Peacekeeping Activities and Peacekeeping Forces” has been submitted to today's plenary session for discussion and further adoption,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
“I want to emphasize once again: we need to implement within the framework of the parliamentary dimension all the decisions taken by the heads of our states. This is our task, and that should be our priority,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
He recalled that in the Declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council adopted on December 2, 2020, the heads of the organization's member states agreed to intensify cooperation to protect health and well-being of the citizens in the pandemic conditions and in the face of other similar threats.
“In this regard, we include recommendations on the legislative provision of sanitary and epidemiological safety in the CSTO PA programme on the convergence and harmonization of the national legislations of the CSTO member states for 2021–2025,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
