Vyacheslav Victorovich
The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
in “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” TV programme, answering the question about the relevant reaction to the foreign interference that took place during the recent elections.

“Such interference will be permanent,” he said and added that such attempts “are aimed at halting development of our country.”

According to him, certain states are convinced that Russia should not influence the international agenda, should be a weak state, and even lose its sovereignty in the future.

The Chairman of the State Duma recalled that “the elections had not been held yet, but the reports had already been issued.” Thus, Russia was criticized for holding the three-day voting, while, as he stressed, “[the elections lasted] in the United States of America for 45 days. Moreover, people voted by mail, and that process was not controlled.”

“And our task is to do everything to prevent [foreign interference].We should prevent implementation of their plans. We should counter that. And we should do it as efficiently as possible,” emphasized Viacheslav Volodin.

“For our part, we should do everything to ensure that international cooperation is built on the basis of mutual respect, absence of double standards and non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
