“That is an unfair decision, first of all, to our citizens. They elected parliamentarians who represent their interests and the interests of the country. Violation of the rights of the Russian delegation is violation of the rights of all citizens of the Russian Federation,” the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

wrote in his Telegram channel.

“Such decisions have specific purposes of lobbing the products of the US and European large pharmaceutical companies,” he said.

“Our vaccine has been approved in more than 70 world countries. It has proved its effectiveness. But at the same time, the European authorities say that they do not recognize Sputnik V. That is an attempt to politicize the process of vaccine approval,” stressed Viacheslav Volodin.

“The Russian delegation should be allowed to attend the Parliamentary Assembly without any restrictions to represent the interests of our citizens,” he said and added that Russia complied with all standards and paid fees to the PACE budget more than other delegations.

“Discrimination against our parliamentarians is unacceptable. In this regard, it would be right not to participate in the PACE session,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

“PACE should decide: either this is a platform for discussions, guided by law and standards, or it is a lobbying organization, which represents the interests of pharmaceutical companies and promote those vaccines that they like,” he concluded.
