The Chairman of the Commission on the Investigation of Foreign Interference in Russia's Internal Affairs Vasilii Piskarev Piskarev Vasily Ivanovich Piskarev
Vasily Ivanovich
recalled that earlier the Commission held a meeting via videoconference with the Google management, where they “declared their willingness to cooperate and regularly communicate with us.”

The parliamentarian added that at the meeting the Commission provided “numerous examples of violations of Russian legislation, including meddling in the elections, calls for minors to participate in unauthorized actions, drug propaganda in web browser search results, political censorship, and many other facts.”

“They confirmed their willingness to perform their activities in the Russian legal field and they set a period of six months to eliminate the existing violations. But those six months will pass soon, but we do not see any results, just the same policy, which had caused outrage not only among the parliamentarians, but also in the society. At the same time, Google continues to ignore the Roskomnadzor’s instructions,” Vasilii Piskarev said.

He stressed that “the company's management shamefully evades responding to the claims, and is ready to endure multimillion-dollar fines, demonstrating that they have all support of the US authorities.”

“Our response may include stricter amendments to the legislation on liability of violating companies and managers who represent the company in Russia. That will be one of the priority tasks of the State Duma of the 8th convocation,” said the Chairman of the Commission.
