Foreign tourists are able to obtain Russian visas through a simplified procedure
Foreign citizens are able to obtain visas for six months to visit Russia if they have hotel confirmation. The relevant law entered into force on August 25
Previously, tourist visas were issued to foreign tourists for a period of up to one month, or on the basis of reciprocity – valid up to six months.
Following the adoption of amendments, tourist visas will be issued for six months if a foreign citizen can provide confirmation of the organization, registered with the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators, or a hotel booking or other accommodation confirmation, included in the federal list of classified hotels and other accommodation facilities.
