Earlier, the Secretary of State for European Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry Clément Beaune urged the European Union member states not to recognize Russian and Chinese vaccines against COVID-19.

“Once again, there was a statement that showed the true values of those people who are responsible for French policy. Such irresponsible and short-sighted stance ignores both the interests of the citizens and rational views of politicians and scientists which could be heard in European states,” wrote Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

The Chairman of the State Duma noted the reasons for such statement – “independence of European states is being surrendered bit by bit.”

“That is the right time to finally identify the priorities. Remember the words of Charles de Gaulle. Serving the overseas political and economic elites and lack of constructive cooperation with neighboring states contradict the principles of protection of interests of citizens, peace and well-being of Europe,” stressed Viacheslav Volodin.

He stressed that those politicians who cared about their citizens could not be so irresponsible by calling to deny access to life-saving medicines in the pandemic conditions.

“Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó has said that it was a big mistake for European states to judge vaccines in the context of politics and not medicine. He emphasized that a vaccine should be a tool for saving lives. He also said that Hungarian experts had found that Sputnik V was safe and effective,” recalled the Chairman of the State Duma.

Viacheslav Volodin added that the same facts were also mentioned in the article of one of the leading scientific journals Nature containing data on the use of the Sputnik V vaccine in the foreign states.
