The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
noted the importance of the meeting, as it was held during the pandemic. “This problem could
not be circumvented. We should join our efforts to help each other,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
In order to enhance cooperation and provide legislative support for decisions taken by the heads of the states on development of bilateral cooperation, Viacheslav Volodin proposed creating a high-level inter-parliamentary commission.
“We should find new forms of cooperation that would make it more effective. It would be right to discuss the issue of creating a high-level commission,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
He added that cooperation at the level of the specialized committees of the parliaments of the two states could would enhance the agenda and help to address specific issues.
The Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan noted the role of Russia as a key strategic partner of Tajikistan. He stressed that inter-parliamentary cooperation was an important link in Russia-Tajikistan relations.
“Our parliaments take coordinated measures together and cooperate closely at other organizations,” said Rustami Emomali, noting the common approaches of the Russian Federation and Tajikistan to the issues of international and regional agendas.
“I am convinced that your visit will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between our states,” he added.
