Earlier, the US President Joe Biden called imposition of new sanctions against Nord Stream 2 “counterproductive”, and the President of France Emmanuel Macron said that the policy of sanctions against Russia “on long-term problems is no longer effective”.

“What is that? Is it a moment of clarity in the current situation, and will they later return to the old approaches? Or have they decided to build relations on the basis of international rules created by their predecessors, who had done a lot for global security and development of the world economy, establishing such organizations as the UN and the WTO? Or is it a desire to be guided by the principles that should lead the world into progress, not destruction? Time will tell,” wrote Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

in his Telegram channel.

He is convinced that the fact that the presidents of those two states have admitted their wrong actions shows that they began to understand that it is impossible to conduct international relations that way.

“Only time will tell what we see as a result. But it is clear that over the past seven years Russia has become a stronger and more independent state. It is really good that they began to understand that,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

Viacheslav Volodin recalled that the unprecedented sanctions pressure against Russia made the country be mobilized. He added that the Russian Federation had not only withstood the economic blockade and all these blames for all the evils, but Russia had also managed to solve import substitution issues, created its own payment system and developed the world's first COVID-19 vaccine.

“I would like to emphasize the indispensable role of the Russian President. In such difficult situation, Vladimir Putin has become and still remains Russia's advantage. He has managed to unite society, overcome challenges, and has done a lot to help Russia to withstand and develop. I cannot say same thing about other states,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
