President of the Russian Federation submitted a bill on denouncing Open Skies Treaty
The Treaty on Open Skies allows its participants to perform aerial observation to observe military activities
On Tuesday, May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma a bill “On denunciation by the Russian Federation of the Treaty on Open Skies.”
Earlier, the United States of America withdrew from the Open Skies Treaty. The Russian side stressed that after the withdrawal of the United States, NATO countries, members of the Open Skies Treaty, would continue to provide information to the US authorities, while Russia would not be allowed to perform aerial observation over US territory.
