“Instead of using unacceptable threats and making attempts to exert pressure on Russia, the United States should explain to the organizations, which are financed by its government, the need to comply with Russian laws,” said Vasilii Piskarev Piskarev Vasily Ivanovich Piskarev
Vasily Ivanovich
, Chairman of the Commission on the Investigation of Foreign Interference in Russia's Internal Affairs, commenting on a recent statement by the US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price.

The day before, Ned Price, speaking at a press briefing at the State Department, mentioned that the United States would respond to actions of Russian authorities against Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and other media recognized as foreign agents in the Russian Federation.

“Radio Liberty, which is funded from the US budget, defiantly and systematically violates Russian laws and ignores decisions of Russian courts,” stressed the parliamentarian.

Vasilii Piskarev recalled that “the State Duma Commission has revealed in the content published by Radio Liberty and related media resources the facts of justifying extremist activities, drug propaganda, calls for participation in illegal actions, fakes about the coronavirus situation (for example, publications about alleged cases of euthanasia applied to patients in Russian hospitals), historical fakes, including materials about the causes and results of the Great Patriotic War.”

“The United States must clearly understand that Russia will not tolerate any attempt of foreign interference in its information space and attempts to use the media controlled by the Western governments to interfere in the internal affairs of our country. Such attempts will be resisted in accordance with the Russian legislation,” stressed the Chairman of the Commission.
