“Unfortunately, recently we have seen witnessed attempts to influence our younger generation with a help of foreign social networks. It is no coincidental that Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need to protect our children from all those things that threaten their life and health. We have recently seen widespread calls to participate in unauthorized protest actions by involving teenagers in those illegal actions and we have also seen a lot of facts of promotion of drug use among young people on the Internet. Now there is very disturbing information that there are a lot of videos on a popular media resource, inciting children to commit suicide. Law enforcement agencies are trying to solve this problem,” said Vasilii Piskarev.

“We have already begun to actively cooperate with representatives of relevant departments, with the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, civil activists, so we should understand if the existing legislative measures are sufficient to protect children and teenagers from such influence, and the Commission continues its work,” said the Chairman of the Commission.

Materials of the Commission, containing facts of foreign activities promoting participation of children and young people in illegal activities, had already been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for further informing of the foreign community and international organizations.
