The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia to pay an official visit to Russia. Member of the State Duma hoped that the visit would take place in the coming months.

Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs added that the issues related to the preparation of the sixth meeting of the Russia-Serbia Inter-parliamentary Commission were also discussed at the meeting. The meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission is planned to be held in Belgrade by the end of the year.

“We also discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Serbia at international platforms, primarily at PACE, as well as issues of bilateral cooperation aimed at countering the COVID-19 pandemic. In the near future, as has already been announced, the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will soon be produced in Serbia,” said Leonid Slutsliy.

He added that the idea of holding of a Russia-Serbia Public Forum was also discussed at the meeting. “I hope that parliamentarians of both countries will part in it”, said the member of the State Duma.

“In general, we plan to enhance close cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Serbia. There are good reasons and all opportunities for that,” concluded Leonid Slutskiy.
