Viacheslav Volodin: those people in the Western states who criticize the amendments to the Constitution want Russia to be weak

He added that such a reaction in the Western states is “another serious, strong argument […] and we follow the right course, we have done everything right”.

“Those introduced norms of the Constitution make our country stronger, so the chorus of critics has started the song again. They just do not want Russia to be a strong state and do not want people of our country to live better. They want us to experience problems, they want our country to be weak,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

He recalled that Russia should be among top five strongest economies in the world, and changes to the Constitution will contribute to this. “We are entering a new phase — the phase of development,” added Viacheslav Volodin.
