“The demolition of the monument to Marshal Ivan Konev in Prague and the subsequent refusal to hand it over to Russia is a disgusting story, especially taking into account the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Great Victory over fascism. This is an act of vandalism and mockery in violation of all international obligations of the Czech Republic. And I think that references to the municipal property of the Prague-6 district are politically incorrect,” said Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

The parliamentarian expressed the hope that the perpetrators will be held responsible, as their actions are blasphemous and amoral. “The Investigative Committee of Russia has already opened a criminal case under the recently adopted law on punishment for the destruction or damage of military graves and monuments,” he reminded.

“We are still hoping for the goodwill and responsible approach of the Czech authorities in the matter of handing over the demolished monument to Marshal Konev to the Russian side,” the Committee Chairman concluded.
