Leonid Eduardovich told reporters that the whole range of Middle East settlement issues was discussed based on an internationally recognized legal framework. In this context, the Chairman of the International Committee spoke with restraint on the proposals of the United States — the so-called “the deal of the century”, noting that it has a clearly pro-Israeli character and does not take into account the interests of the Palestinian side. “We believe that it is necessary to seriously deal with the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. We are ready at all levels, including within the parliamentary dimension, to assist the negotiation process. Here we see certain opportunities for parliamentary diplomacy,” said the head of the committee.

They also discussed several other components of the Middle East settlement and the regional agenda, Leonid Slutskiy added.
