Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs commented on the cancellation of the visit of the Dutch parliamentarians to Russia

Leonid Slutskiy stressed that "the scandal with the cancellation of the visit of the parliamentary delegation from the Netherlands to Russia could have been provoked in advance." “On the other hand, we reaffirm our willingness to continue our communications with the parliamentarians of the Netherlands and with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Second Chamber. Members of the State Duma quite constructively communicate with them at international platforms, including PACE,” he said

“I do not exclude that the scandal with the cancellation of the visit of the parliamentary delegation from the Netherlands to Russia could have been provoked in advance. My invitation to visit Moscow and hold a series of consultations at the State Duma was sent in advance, and the Dutch side could form the delegation without those who are blacklisted. It is also surprising to hold the discussion of the issue at media sphere, taking into account the statements of concerns of the Russian side through diplomatic channels. Therefore, I do not exclude that the stated intention by the Dutch side to visit Russia was orignothing but a grandstanding,” said the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

“On the other hand, we reaffirm our willingness to continue our communications with the parliamentarians of the Netherlands and with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Second Chamber. Members of the State Duma quite constructively communicate with them at international platforms, including PACE. I hope, in time, such a destructive position will be reviewed and, perhaps, it will even be possible to hold a joint meeting of the parliamentary committees on foreign affairs,” the parliamentarian stressed.

“As for the ”black lists“, this is an absolutely mirror reply to the outbreak of the sanctions war by the European Union. So, the EU states need only blame themselves for that,” the Chairman of the Committee concluded.
