“Such statements undermine the trust between the countries. We see them as a threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Russia. These calls are detrimental to relations between Russia and Japan, based on the principles of friendship, openness, and the absence of double standards. Are Japanese politicians aware of this? An even more important question is: such statements are in whose interests?
Attempts to revise the outcomes of the World War II, the greatest tragedy of the 20th century, will not benefit either Japan or anyone else. History teaches us that misunderstood lessons of the past will certainly punish a negligent student.
