“When we talk about the work of our interparliamentary commission, it should do everything to ensure more dynamical development of foreign economic relations, but, of course, we must analyze and create conditions for the implementation of humanitarian projects in the fields of education and culture,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
Transactions in national currencies
Viacheslav Volodin said that ”it would be right to switch to national currencies in mutual transactions.“
To expand this practice, it is important to adopt the necessary legal framework. Viacheslav Volodin also noted the need to use the potential of the Russian-Vietnamese Bank. He drew attention to the fact that Vietnamese credit organizations began to accept ”MIR“ cards.
Create all
conditions for the development of business and investment projects
“We need to do everything to develop more actively our foreign economic relations, goods circulation and so that Russian companies can more actively participate in the development of these relations, implementing investment projects. Today, we have problems with this,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
He noted that “it is extremely important to create all conditions for business development and implementation of investment projects both in Russia and Vietnam on the principles of developing bilateral cooperation” so that the principles of partnership are reflected in a business climate.
Relationship prospects
Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân noted that during the next meeting it is necessary to discuss issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sector, agriculture, and tourism. Besides, she proposed to organize separate working groups for detailed work on these issues.
For over 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations and 25 years since the signing of the treaty on the principles of friendly relations between Vietnam and Russia, both parties, she said, have made a significant contribution to mutual development.
“We will do our best to develop cooperation between our countries, trade and economic relations better. To ensure that these results correspond to good political relations between our countries,” Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân clarified, stressing that “the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma have implemented a lot of cooperation projects.”
She also noted that the results of the first meeting would open up new prospects for the next one.
Viacheslav Volodin supported the idea of creating working groups and said that the adoption of legislative decisions would entail a more active development of relations.
“If we reach $ 10 billion (turnover), this will give an additional impetus to our countries. This will develop the economies of our countries and increase their prosperity,” the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized.
The fact that Russia and Vietnam created the Inter-Parliamentary Commission became known in December 2018. It was decided that its meetings would be held annually, alternately in Russia and Vietnam.
In April 2019, during a meeting with Viacheslav Volodin, Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân noted that this was their fifth meeting.
“This frequency indicates a high level of interaction between our countries,” she said.
