stressed that this event is important not for the past, but for the future, as of our country, as well as of Europe and the whole world. One of the most important goals of the Conference is to try to analyze the common history together and learn from it. ”It is important to keep the historical memory,“ he said.

”Over the past 35 years, Russia has been losing the information war related to the historical heritage of the Soviet Union,“ stressed the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma. He said that in all countries of Eastern Europe there are attempts to rewrite history and ”reinforce“ young people the idea that the Soviet Union did not liberate the countries from fascism, but captured them.

“Russian reticence“ to such phenomena has led to the situation when monuments to Soviet soldiers-liberators are demolished in Poland and other countries, as said Petr Tolstoy.

“We should not tolerate current situation,” he emphasized.

The head of the Communist Party faction Gennady Zyuganov Zyuganov Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov

also attended the Conference, he urged young people to study history. “To capture a country, it is necessary to wipe the memory and destroy the historical heritage,” he said.
