Leonid Eduardovich
called the detention of the Director of Business Development of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) Alexander Korshunov in Italy at the request of the United States ”another outrageous example of the use of so-called American extraterritorial law.“

“The United States has launched a real hunt for Russian citizens abroad,” he said.

According to the parliamentarian, in the case of Alexander Korshunov, it is possible that ”the charges may be far-fetched to undermine the professional reputation of the Russian aircraft industry.“ Unfortunately, methods of unfair competition occupy not the last place in Washington’s foreign policy, Leonid Slutskiy added.

“The Committee on International Affairs created a separate dossier on the issues of violation of the rights and fundamental freedoms of Russians abroad, including cases of unjustified prosecution. We will certainly follow the progress of Alexander Korshunov’s case. At the parliamentary level, we are ready to provide all necessary assistance for his speedy release and return to the homeland,” he concluded.
