The Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE invited the Chairman of the State Duma to pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Viacheslav Volodin accepted the invitation, saying that he would also be glad if Amal Al Qubaisi would visit the State Duma on an official visit.
“Our countries have reached a new level of strategic cooperation. Our leaders are doing a lot to develop relations between our states. For our part, we should also do everything possible to enhance cooperation, increase trade, we would understand each other better,” he said
“Perhaps it would be appropriate if we consider new formats of cooperation,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
The parties also discussed at the meeting the settlement of the conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic. Amal Al Qubaisi, on behalf of the people of her country, thanked Russia for protecting civilians in Syria and liberation of this country from terrorists. She recalled that this is a problem for the entire region, and today there are more than 250 thousand Syrians in the UAE, she expressed hope that soon they will be able to return home.
“Russia has liberated almost 80% of the territory of Syria from terrorists. You play a big role in Syria. — said Amal Al Qubaisi. “The United Arab Emirates supports political, not military solutions, and we want to cooperate with Russia to help the citizens of Syria and support the Syrian Parliament.”

The Second International Forum ”Development of Parliamentarism“ is being held on July 1–3 on the initiative of the State Duma. This year, representatives from 132 states came to the Forum. About 800 experts and parliamentarians, including 14 international parliamentary organizations, are taking part in the events. 41 speakers representing the national parliaments are participating in the Forum. This is twice the number of the Forum 2018: 19 speakers of parliaments took part in the Forum last year.
