“We can say that, no matter what sanctions are imposed against Russia, we will be able to overcome this situation, we will be able to maintain the fulfillment of obligations to our citizens. No matter how badly someone wants to destroy us, it will not happen,” said Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

He stressed that the reason of the sanctions is trade wars, not the reunification of the Crimea with Russia.

“The reason is not that Crimea is now part of Russia. This is just an excuse, not a reason. We should admit it. That what is happening today is trade wars. The reason for these trade wars, both against us and China, is the development of our country. And considering that we still have military power, it is clear that this puts us on the same level with China, which has economic power,” Viacheslav Volodin stressed.

“We have a constant dialogue with the Western and other states, when we talk about sanctions, you should understand that sanctions would have been imposed in any case. As soon as Russia began to develop, as soon as it became strong, such a situation was inevitable,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

“Sanctions are just what we have to go through. We will have to overcome it, and what does not kill us makes us stronger. Therefore, let’s make up our minds that we should overcome the challenges,” he stressed.
