The delegation of the State Duma, which is holding a two-day official visit to Germany, laid wreaths at the monument to the Soldier-Liberator in Berlin's Treptower Park.
On the eve of the Victory Day, State Duma members
headed by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Aleksandr Zhukov
Zhukov
Alexander Dmitrievich
visited a memorial park in the German capital. Russian parliamentarians were accompanied
by their German colleagues from the Bundestag.
The parliamentarians of both countries honored the memory of the fallen Soviet soldiers, coming to the monument to the Soldier-Liberator with flowers and wreaths. The entire Russian delegation adorned the lapels of the jackets with the ribbon of Saint George — the traditional symbol of the Great Victory.
During the visit to Berlin, the delegation of the State Duma discussed topical issues of the international agenda, including the topic of lifting the mutual sanctions of the EU and Russia, the Nord Stream 2
project, and the situation in Ukraine, with colleagues from the Bundestag.
