The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
and Andrej Danko, where inter-parliamentary interaction between Russia
and Slovakia will be discussed, is scheduled to be held in the State Duma on May 8.
On 9 May, the Speaker of the National Council of Slovakia, Andrej Danko, will take part in the Victory Parade on the Red Square as an honored guest.
On November 15, 2017, speaking to State Duma members Andrej Danko noted that the Slovak people had never questioned the role that the Red Army played in the liberation of the country. ”Slovakia has always respected the heroism of the Russian and Soviet soldiers and those who fell on our territory during the Second World War,“ he stressed.
“With honor and piety, we remember the Soviet partisans who fought side by side with the Slovaks in 1944 during the Slovak national uprising,” said Andrej Danko. “It was the biggest uprising in Europe during the Second World War, it showed the determination of our people to fight for freedom and against fascism. Without your heroic help, it would be very difficult for us to fight,” concluded the Speaker of the National Council of Slovakia.
