State Duma turned off the lights joining the Earth Hour campaign

Today the State Duma traditionally took part in the international campaign “Earth Hour”. From 8:30 to 9:30 pm, the illumination of the facade of the building on Okhotny Ryad was turned off.

Earth Hour is a movement that raises awareness for a careful and responsible attitude to the nature and resources of the planet. Turning off the light is symbolic. 

This is the most massive environmental movement. More than 2 billion people all over the world in 188 countries participate in it, the illumination of more than 18,000 architectural monuments is turned off.
