Vasilii Piskarev will discuss the issues of a fight against cybercrime, terrorism, and corruption with the Chinese parliamentarians

, is visiting China on 20–24 February.

“The agenda of the visit of the delegation is very extensive. We intend to exchange the experience of creating legislation in the sphere of countering new challenges and threats to the country’s security and citizens with Chinese colleagues. And we will also discuss how to create legal barriers to protect the life and health of our citizens from cyber-terrorism, the drug business, and the involvement of minors in criminal activities via the Internet. We are also interested in the experience of enforcement of anti-corruption measures,” said Vasilii Piskarev.

“We are committed to expanding bilateral ties with China, and working together at the level of parliamentary committees will strengthen practical cooperation between lawmakers of the two countries,” the head of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control emphasized.

During the visit, Vasilii Piskarev will meet the leadership of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the Chairman of the NPC’s Internal Affairs and Justice Commission, as well as the leadership of the People’s Prosecutor’s Office of the People’s Republic of China and the State Control Committee of the People’s Republic of China.

Earlier, the delegation of the State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control, headed by its Chairman Vasilii Piskarev, paid working visits to Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey, where they met with the heads of parliaments and relevant committees and commissions of these countries. The visits of parliamentary delegations at the committee level take place in accordance with the decisions of the Conferences of Speakers of the Parliaments of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey on combating terrorism and strengthening of the regional cooperation held in Islamabad and Tehran in 2017–2018.
